Death of Wal-Mart Sales and Marketing Vice President
Nathan Bearnhardt was killed on the night of January 3rd. Nathan Bearnhardt, the Vice President
of Sales and Marketing for Wal-Mart was a long-standing member of the community. Police are
releasing little in terms of the exact nature of the death, but we have been able to discover
that the Wal-Mart pillar was killed using a common handgun. Speculations abound about whether
or not this death is related to the large number of layoffs that Wal-Mart announced in previous
months.

Economic Crisis Continues
What started as a slump has turned into a bottomless hole. The economic state of northwest
Arkansas continues to slide as more and more business owners in the area fall into panic about
the current state of things. Prices have risen across the board, and there is talk in city hall
that a new sales tax be applied to the food and service industry to help to compensate for this
particular slump.

Relocation to the Northwest Arkansas Region has slowed to a standstill. In part due to current
residents seeking jobs elsewhere and to people reconsidering how lucrative such a move would be.
Tourism is also taking a hit due to the increased cost of goods and services.

Financial analysts are stumped on the subject. They have declared it an unforeseen snowball
event and something that can likely only be brought to a halt given time or an equally powerful
push in the other direction.

Doctor Offers Consultation on ‘Memory Fatigue’
We held an interview with Dr. Michael Mason who wished to vocalize his particular area of study.
Dr. Mason’s studies focus on ‘memory fatigue’. He explains that the disease is often hard to
diagnose since there are few physical symptoms and that the symptoms are often overlooked. The
source, he explains, is our information culture. He goes into detail on how our minds are so
saturated with information on a second by second basis that this leads to a mental fatigue that
eventually can result in absent-mindedness, forgetfulness, and in some severe cases loss of
memory. Dr. Mason will be attending various clinics around the region to promote his new studies
and his new book, Memory Fatigue: the High Price of the Information Age, which is expected to be
on shelves in late April.
