II. Summary

Hello Region of love,
It’s been a busy month getting the ARC staff up to speed and running smoothly.
We have a New Independent chapter in LA…. LA-008-I Lake Charles.
Now to the meat and potatoes.
DC Prestige requests need to be sent to ARC Outreach Nicki Boyles not directly to myself. Nicki collects all the data puts it on her report which then gets put on the SCRC report by Jess and finally gets reviewed and edited by myself.
Also if you need an election ran please contact Nicki so she can get the ball rolling. Currently the SCRC Staff is working with the SCRST staff to run all elections. The RC staff runs all elections but in the case of Storyteller elections ARST Admin William Sternenberg serves as a Proctor and announces the winner as Coordinators aren't empowered to appoint Storytellers. This helps let the RST staff do what they do ...run plot and look at approvals for the region and they still know who just got elected as a new DST. So if you need a DC election ran just contact Nicki. If you need a DST election ran you need to let Nicki and William know. Please title your email DC or DST "Domain Name" election request.
National and Regional Charity donations need to be sent to my ARC Charities Adam Tomplait, by your DC. The DC needs to send their Domain's donation in the National format. If you're a DC and need a copy of the file you can get it from the CRD files section or ask me and I'll forward you a copy of it. This makes it a lot less time consuming for my ARC, myself and National. Which means prestige gets awarded faster. Please title your email "Name of Charity" National/Regional Drive "Domain Name"
Prestige Audits. If you're log was returned for corrections and your DC isn't responding after 14 days. Feel free to send the log back up to my ARC Prestige Julia Starr and myself. Just make sure you copy your DC on the email. All Regional, National, Ordeal and Exceptional Service prestige needs to have a link to support the award. While I will accept you putting what Regional or National report the award is on. It makes things a lot easier if there is a link. Please note putting the Prestige Search Engine link isn't good enough. You need to put the link that goes directly with the award. --- Reason Control Find "Cam#/Name" is a lot easier to see than going through the Prestige Search Engine Page and going through every item listed and matching it up with the award on your log. Plus it's National Policy. For all Charity Donations you need to list how many items/hours you did. Just putting Charity Donation 30G isn’t good enough. When submitting a prestige log please title your email "Member Name Cam#" MC 1-14 or Prestige Lock or Transfer request.
A note about Transfers, as this came up this month. I'm not force transferring anyone. Be a member where you can have fun is my policy. Though I won't approve transfers for people who play where they live and just want their memberships transferred somewhere else.
FGoTM prestige awards need to be submitted in the National format to the ARC Event Mellissa Johnson . If the coordinator running the FGoTM can't find the file in the CRD email me and I'll send it to you. Please note you can't get prestige for donating IC items to a charity auction ran at your FGoTM. Only real items get prestige, there can be IC stuff attached to the item. In the end though only real items get awarded prestige. Not a piece of paper that says you'll Avus someone. There's even a FAQ on the USNC stating as much. FGoTM prestige is currently being posted on the USNC site see below in the RC report for the ones I was able to approve so far. When submitting the prestige from a FGoTM. Please title your email FGoTM Prestige for "Month Year"

DC of “Location A” asked a procedural question about how to determine if a situation is Cam-sanctioned or not. The DC also wanted to know what to do about rumor mongering that did not happen on \"Cam-time.\" I helped the DC determine if the situation that was being dealt with was on \"Cam-time\" and told the DC that if rumor mongering did not happen in a Cam-sanctioned space, there isn\'t much a DC could do about it. I did suggest that the DC encourage the members involved to mediate issues. The DCs of “Location B” and “Location C” had a question about who has jurisdiction over a player from Location B playing in a Location C game, if the MhB was breeched. I told them that the presiding officer has jurisdiction to act on site as long as the member is still there. So, if the Location C DC made a decision on the matter, then it is over with. That decision can be appealed to Regional, like any other officer decision. If action needs to happen (such as an investigation) after the fact, then Regional would have to handle it.

Summary:
Having recently taken over the position I am examining past publications and reformatting the design and content of the newsletter in preparation for a June release.
Questions & Answers:
Had a consideration for a classified section of the letter. Are there any issues with this, things to avoid, etc.? Thought it would be a nice place for members to advertise various things they might want the region to see, such as used books, local OOC events, etc.
Projects:
Re-designing layout and developing a universal format for content. Will be focused on repetitive sections in an attempt to better organize information and retain recognizable favorites over each issue. Will be releasing new design and content structure to RC in the month of May

Problems: A member (James Leavings) re-upped his membership on the website, but it doesn’t show up in the CRD. What should be done about this?
Answer: Put a bug report in the Mantis program in the CRD. Wes said that he will be going through Mantis and fixing things… if it’s not in there, he won’t fix it.
